Description
- Amphioxus is a well-known model organism widely used for interspecies comparative genome study, developmental homology analysis and comparative immunological investigation. Amphioxus, a cephalochordate, has long been considered as the extant invertebrate most closely related to the proximate invertebrate ancestor of vertebrates.
